Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a jig for heat treatment of a liquid crystal substrate which is used for a stage for heat treating the liquid crystal substrate, putting a liquid crystal display element into a cell formed by a substrate and a sealing material and subjecting the element to firing and sealing in a stage for manufacturing a liquid crystal display board, is within ±2 deg.C of a temperature distribution within the plane of 600×600 mm at about 200 deg.C and is enhanced in the adhesion property to the liquid substrate. SOLUTION: A graphite base material is subjected to a thermosetting resin coating or impregnation or impregnation coating treatment and the treatment is stopped in a state where the thermosetting resin is cured, by which the surface soaking property at about 200 deg.C is improved, gas permeability is enhanced and the adhesion property to the work is enhanced.
