Abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To appropriately read an information code added to an article with simple constitution by adjusting it to the carrying speed of a carrying device such as a belt conveyor. SOLUTION: An article detection unit detects that an article arrives at the prescribed position of a carrying path (S100). A QR code added to the article is fetched as a picture after prescribed time elapses from that time (S110 and S120). The center coordinate of a symbol for positioning, which the QR code in the picture has, is calculated (S140). Speed at which the article is carried by a belt conveyor is calculated, based on the deviation of the calculated center coordinate (S150 and S160). Above prescribed time is corrected, based on carrying speed (S180).
