Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent disturbance of a toner image by making an electric field generated between fixing members at the time of image formation on a single side opposite to an electric field generated between the fixing members at the time of image formation on both surfaces. SOLUTION: An AC voltage on which a DC voltage having a polarity (positive polarity) opposite to the polarity of toner being used is overlapped is applied by a paper separation AC discharger 14h to recording paper P subjected to image formation on both sides and the recording paper P is consequently separated from an intermediate transfer belt 14a and is carried to a fixing device 17. Toner and the recording paper P are positively electrified on the drive roller 14d. Also, recording paper P subjected to image formation on its surface (one side) is separated by the paper separation AC discharger 14h from the intermediate transfer belt 14a to which an AC voltage on which a DC voltage having a polarity (negative polarity) identical to the polarity of toner being used is overlapped is applied, and the recording paper P is carried to the fixing device 17. In this case, the recording paper P is negatively electrified on the drive roller 14d.
