Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side air bag for an automobile in which the cost is reduced, and the weight is light while the gas emission function of an air bag body is maintained. SOLUTION: This side air bag device has at least an air bag body 16 which is formed in a bag-shape comprising an outer first base cloth 21 arranged on an occupant side and an outer second base cloth 22 arranged on an in-cabin side wall side, inflatable by the gas discharged from an inflator, and folded in a normal condition. Inner base cloths 23, 24 are arranged on an inner surface of the outer first base cloth 21 and the outer second base cloth 22 therealong, and communication holes 25, 26 are formed in the inner base cloths 23, 24.
