Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce pumping loss, friction, and fuel consumption by partially designating only number 2 and number 3 cylinders in a cylinder line as rest cylinders, with a relatively simple structure. SOLUTION: When a drive shaft 15 rotates in association with an engine, a rocking cam 13 oscillates through an eccentric cam 16, a ring-like link 21, a rocker arm 19, and a rod-like link to operate an intake valve and an exhaust valve to open/close. A first control cam 18, to which the rocker arm 19 is externally engaged, is fixed to the outer peripheral face of a main control shaft 17 extending in a cylinder line direction. A sub-control shaft 25 is externally and rotatably engaged with the outer peripheral of the main control shaft 17 is partially provided for the number 2 and the number 3 cylinders. A second control cam 26, to which the rocker arm 19 is externally engaged, is fixed to the outer peripheral of the sub-control shaft 25. |
