Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject molded form with higher-level composite characteristics, in particular high mechanical strength by selecting the conditions of respective systems including feedstocks, mixing, granulation, molding and burning. SOLUTION: A method for producing the molded form comprises mixing under agitation composite molded form microparticle components consisting mainly of carbonaceous microparticles each <=10 μm in average size and ceramic microparticles each <=5 μm in average size under nonhygroscopic conditions followed by addition of a granulating agent to make granules each <=10 mm in size, which, in turn, are dried and then pulverized, molded, and burned in an inert atmosphere to effect carbonization or graphitization. |
