Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a medium from falling into the hand of a third person because of leaving the medium by an operator by asking the operator to input a password number at the time of returning the received medium and returning the medium to a slot only at the time of operator's valid input. SOLUTION: When a received medium 8 is returned as the result of processing of a read processing part 15 or by operator's intentional depression of a cancel button, the ejecting operation of the medium 8 is temporarily stopped by monitor of a sensor 19 in the vicinity of the medium return hole which cannot be touched by the third person, and the operator is prompted to input the password number in an operation picture as a means which confirms operator's will of return, and the medium 8 is returned to a slot 4 just after discrimination of correct number input. Thus, the medium is prevented from being left by the operator, and further, this medium is effectively prevented from falling into the hand of a third person.
