Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the degradation of the scale quality which is caused by giving the stress in a hot rolled wire under the direct heat treatment of the wire. SOLUTION: In a direct heat treatment method, a direct heat treatment process in which a hot rolled wire 5 is cooled in a regulated manner by winding the wire in a non-concentric manner after water-cooled as necessary, and using any one of or combining a plurality of the forced cooling, natural cooling, heat holding, and heating with each other while continuously carrying the wound wire, is effected by a carrying conveyor comprising an arc-like bent conveyor 8-1 and straight conveyors 7-1, 7-2. The wire is passed through an inflection point from the straight conveyors to the bent conveyor, or an inflection point from the bent conveyor to the straight conveyors without dropping the surface temperature of the wire to be carried below a transformation point of a wustite (FeO). |
