PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify the structure of a mattress for cost reduction and enable the hardness to be adjustable by equipping a shape changing mechanism for arbitrary shape variation to change the volume without changing the volume of sealed liquid. SOLUTION: This mattress 20 is constituted by sealing high viscosity gel 22 as fluid inside a bag 21 and has a shape changing mechanism 23 which can arbitrarily change the shape of the mattress 20. Plural partitions is equipped in the height direction of the mattress 20 to suppress a shape change when a person lies on. The shape changing mechanism 23 is a pressing member to change the volume of the mattress 20 by pressing side parts of the mattress 20 from vertical direction. The upper pressing part 23a presses the upper side of a side part of the mattress 20 and the lower pressing part 23b the underside. An adjusting part 23c connects the upper pressing part 23a and the lower pressing part 23b and adjusts the distance between the upper pressing part 23a and the lower pressing part 23b.
