The invention relates to a logic electronic arrangement intended to identify, by sound recognition, the radio or television station picked up by a receiver. It consists of a pick-up 1 and 2 for the sound emitted by the monitored receiver, a built-in receiver controlled by the device and serving as reference 3 and 4, a microprocessor with its associated logic 5 and 6 enabling a statistical comparison to be made of the two sources so as to determine their possible identity, a dating-clock 7 making it possible to date precisely the result of the test and a control for locking the receiver onto a preset transmitter 8 in order to initialise the process. The arrangement according to the invention is particularly intended for the automatic monitoring of radio or television receivers for the purposes of audience statistics studies.
