Summary: | An exhaust coupling 10A for a pump comprises an exhaust conduit extending between an inlet aperture 30A for receiving a fluid from the pump and an outlet aperture 40 for exhausting the fluid from the conduit. The outlet aperture has a restrictor 60 operable to change its cross-sectional area. The restrictor may comprise a removable insert or a variable restrictor. The restrictor may be actuated in response to a sensed temperature, pressure and/or flow rate of the fluid, and/or in response to a user preference to reduce noise or reduce pump down time. The conduit may have sections of differing cross-sectional areas. The inlet aperture may have a smaller cross-sectional area than an adjacent section of the conduit, and may have a portion 75A extending from the conduit. The conduit may comprise at least one bend and/or flexible section. |
