Summary: | An outlet channel for a water jet propulsion system comprises a first section 5, where water enters the channel, having a constant cross-sectional area, with a first stepped restriction point 1 linking said first section to a second section 4 with a smaller but constant cross-sectional area. The second section is then linked to a third section 3 with a smaller cross-sectional area than the second section by a second stepped restriction point 2. Water is expelled from the end 6 of the third section of the channel. Each section of the outlet channel has a common longitudinal axis and the stepped reductions in the outlet channel's cross-sectional area increase the pressure of the water exiting said outlet channel. The application also discloses an outlet channel (1, Fig 1) of circular cross section with a cylinder (4, Fig 1) of circular cross-section mounted by means of four securing plates (3, Fig 1) at the centre of the outlet. |
