Summary:A folding chair comprising a substantially rectangular support frame 1 within which are located a seat portion 2, a back portion 3 and a lower seat support 4 and which are pivoted together to allow the seat portion 2 to lie within the lower seat support 4 and the back portion 3 and lower seat support 4 to lie parallel to each other within the rectangular support frame 1 in the folded closed position. The back portion 3 may be pivotally connected to the rectangular support frame 1 through a sliding pivot 8. Each of the three constructional parts 2, 3, 4 may comprise a plurality of parallel slats 12, 13, 14 or a rigid sheet material. The chair may be constructed of wood, plastics or metal, more particularly aluminium.
