Summary: | A door panel (fig 1, 2) includes a stress absorption portion 21 that is arranged to absorb stress in the outer skin 10 which may arise from thermal expansion and contraction. The stress absorption portion 21 can consist of a layer coinciding with the outer skin, or may be located only at stress concentration locations. It is preferably made of a flexible material. The door panel preferably includes a rigid structural layer 22, a security reinforcement layer 23, and an inner skin 12. The invention can be used to prevent warp or bowing of the door, and cracking of the exterior surface. |
