Summary:19,718. Le Rouge, A. J. M., and Chapuis, C. C. Aug. 24, 1909, [Convention date]. Steering and balancing.-The supporting-surfaces B, B' of an aerial machine are mounted to move longitudinally on curved guide-bars G so that the inclination of the surfaces is varied automatically according to the wind pressure. The guide-bars are so curved that the line of resultant pressure on the surfaces always passes through the centre of gravity of the machine. The planes are held in the forward position by an adjustable spring R.
