Abstract | 23,882. Pap, L. Oct. 29. Fire-escapes.-A shoot c is unwound from a roller b rotating within a metal casing situated beneath the window frame. One part d of the mouth of the shoot is hooked on a bar k carried by hinged brackets g which are supported by struts i. The brackets g and struts i may be folded back against the window when not in use. A rope f takes over a hook l on the bar k and passes down inside the shoot. The rope and shoot are both wound together on the drum. The shoot tapers towards the ground, and the top portions of shoot and rope are made of fire-resisting material. |
