Summary:1,223,884. Finishing tubular knitted webs. SAMCOE HOLDING CORP. 20 May, 1968, No. 23946/68. Heading D1L. Tubular knitted webs are passed through apparatus comprising a pair of exhausting rollers 13, 21, a finishing bath 44 and a pair of padding rollers 14, 22. The rollers 13, 14 have a steel core and a surface 92, 93 of a hard material and are of greater hardness than the other rollers 21, 22, the padding rollers having a greater combined resiliency than the exhausting rollers. Only the harder rollers may be driven, the other two being pressed thereto by adjustable means so that they may be readily changed. Rollers 43, 44 guide the web through the finishing liquid 44. A two speed expander spreader ensures that the fabric is fed correctly to the apparatus.
