Summary:The invention relates to a method for producing a composition intended for use as a filler for a step for producing carbon black from atmospheric residue, in which said atmospheric residue is vacuum-distilled to lead to at least one distillate fraction obtained by vacuum distillation, said distillate fraction obtained by vacuum distillation being treated according to at least the following two successive steps: .cndot. a step 1) of fluid catalytic cracking leading to FCC residue, .cndot. a step 2) of filtering fine solid particles contained in said FCC residue obtained in step 1) of cracking leading to a filtrate containing less than 300 ppm of particles less than 10 microns and in which said vacuum residue fraction adds to a step of de-asphalting leading to a de-asphalted vacuum residue fraction of which at least a portion is mixed with at least a portion of said filtrate obtained in step 2), filtration, to form said mixture.
