The filter (23) has a filter body (231) comprising an air inlet opening (233), and a protection device fixed to the filter body by clipping, screwing or welding. The protection device prevents entry of liquid spatter (F1) in the filter body through the inlet opening. The protection device has a protection plate (235) emerging from the body and forming a filter body closing unit. A screw (238) fixes the filter to an element of a vehicle.
