Summary:A tandem hydraulic/electrical master cylinder for a vehicle braking system comprises a primary piston with activating shaft, a return mechanism and a mechanism comprising a chamber to simulate the reaction of a braking force/stress on the shaft to control or exert a hydraulic pressure in a main pressure chamber. There is a secondary axial piston (22) where the means of isolation control by this piston are susceptible to isolation (46) of the simulation chamber through a radial by-pass channel (74) selectively axially sealable by a radial fluid-tight element (94) carried by the secondary piston.
