Summary:The component is attached to the upper face of the tibia, and includes a flat surface (4) which receives an intermediate plate (2) of the joint. The flat surface is surrounded by an upwardly-projecting peripheral lip (5), and a mid-portion of the surface has an upward projection (6) adjacent to its posterior edge. The projection is triangular in plan, with dovetail shape in vertical cross-section. A cut-out (8) at the posterior edge of the intermediate plate corresponds in dimensions and cross-section to the projection to allow interlocking when the two components are brought together. One or more cut-outs (10) may be formed at the opposite edge of both components to allow insertion of a surgical instrument. Cette prothèse est du type comprenant un élément fémoral fixé à l'extrémité inférieur du fémur, un élément tibial fixé à l'extrémité supérieure du tibia et un plateau intermédiaire en matériau favorisant le glissement. Selon l'invention, la face (4) de l'élément tibial (1) recevant le plateau intermédiaire (2) comprend, d'une part, un rebord périphérique (5) faisant saillie vers le haut et, d'autre part, un plot médian (6), situé du côté postérieur de l'élément tibial (1), ayant une forme triangulaire allant s'élargissant en direction du côté postérieur de la prothèse et ayant une section transversale en forme de queue d'aronde à bords arrondis, tandis que le plateau intermédiaire (2) comprend une creusure périphérique (7) et un évidement (8), correspondant respectivement au rebord périphérique (5) et au plot (6) précités, sur lesquels ils sont destinés à être emboîtés.
