This package comprises, in a packaging body, at least one pair of cradles 3, 4, each capable of receiving a gearbox, the gearboxes being in a head-to-tail position with respect to each other, the said cradles being housed inside the said body and each comprising a rectangular bottom, three lateral walls of height substantially equal to that of the said body and a fourth wall of lower height, the said walls of lower height of each of the said cradles of the said pair being joined side-by-side and comprising, in a corresponding position starting from their upper edge, cut-outs for the passage of the preselection lever of each box, this lever thus being able to be lowered down transversely in the contiguous cradle and wedged in the said cut-outs.
