Abstract | The device for studying the radiation emitted by a surface or elementary volume situated in a furnace comprising means for focusing the radiation emitted by the said surface or the said volume of the furnace, means for collecting the radiation thus focused which are sensitive to the spectral luminance and means for giving out indications connected with the said spectral luminance, is characterised in that it furthermore comprises: - a bundle of optical fibres 14, a first end 64 of which is situated in proximity with the surface or the volume whose radiation it is desired to detect and whose opposite end 74 is connected to the said means sensitive to the spectral luminance 41 to 44; - a multi-tube probe 2 provided with cooling means 24, 25 and comprising at one end an enclosure 26 containing the said first end 64 of the bundle of optical fibres 14 and the said focusing means 11, 12, 13, this probe being disposed in order to protect and cool at least part of the bundle of optical fibres 14 which is situated inside the furnace.
