Abstract A hermitically sealed sphere shaped end is formed on a tubular workpiece (metal) by heating an end to forging temp., reducing the end dia. to that of the required sphere and roll shaping (spinning) a hermetically sealed semi-sphere on the end. A sphere is then formed by roll shaping (spinning) the remaining part of the reduced dia. end starting from the conjugation between the semi-sphere and the reduced dia. along a sphere generatrix towards the main portion of the workpiece. Used in production of hollow plunger spherical bearing for lipping truck hydraulic jacks, hydraulic fixtures, articulated joints in metal constructions and telescopic articulated joints. An improved strengthened sealed sphere end is formed more accurately and more quickly than prior art processes. L'invention concerne l'usinage des métaux par déformation. Le procédé faisant l'objet de l'invention est caractérisé notamment en ce que le bout de l'ébauche tubulaire 2 chauffé jusqu'à la température de forgeage est rétreint jusqu'à obtention d'une portion cylindrique de diamètre égal à celui de la sphère à obtenir, puis, sur la partie rétreinte de l'ébauche tubulaire, on façonne par génération un bout hémisphérique étanche, après quoi on façonne par génération un étranglement jusqu'à obtention d'une sphère 6. L'invention s'applique notamment à la fabrication de la rotule du piston-plongeur d'un basculeur hydraulique de camion-benne, des soutènements hydrauliques, de diverses articulations pour les structures métalliques, des organes télescopiques articulés.
