Summary:Inlet valve for a container or tank such as a lubricant tank for a gas turbine jet aircraft engine, in which the valve comprises a float (18) which is movable inside a chamber (16) in the inlet. A sealing disc (22) is attached to the float, which prevents a current through the inlet if the float (18) is in a primary position, and cuts off fluid flow through the inlet if the float (18) is in a secondary position. The float has a cylindrical cross-section and is fitted vertically in the inlet chamber (16). The sealing disc is (22) fitted at the upper end of the float (18), which in the primary position of the float locates in a ring-shaped sealing seat (23) in the chamber wall, thus preventing fluid current through the chamber.
