Abstract The parent patent 78883 claimed electrodes for electrochemical processes comprising a refractory core of particles or fibres of glass, Al2O3, silica, thoria, titania, or aluminosilicates, coated with a filmogenic layer of metal or alloy as support and a coating thereon of electrolytically active matl. In this addition patent the range of refractory matl. cores is greatly extended to include oxide, carbides, sulphides, nitrides and fluorides esp. in the fibrous condition.
