Abstract This invention describes a high-speed optical positioning system (visible and infrared) based on LED-type mobile emitters and static receivers consisting of quadrant-organized photodiode arrays (QADA type). The emitters transmit simultaneously without mutual interference through the use of coding and modulation techniques. In the receivers, an aperture with a known geometric shape is used, preferably square, which allows, based on the measurement of the illuminated areas in the photodiodes, to estimate the angles of arrival (or impact) of the light beams in each receiver.
