Abstract The invention relates to a shim coil (1) for a magnetic assembly (4) of a magnetic resonance imaging system (5), comprising a backing plate (2) and a coil pattern (3) on the backing plate (2), which is held by the backing plate (2) and which forms the windings of the shim coil (1), wherein the coil pattern (3) comprises a superconductor. In this way, a versatile shim coil (1) for a magnetic assembly (4) of a magnetic resonance imaging system (5) is provided which can be manufactured in an easy and repeatable way.
