Abstract A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system includes an evaporator configured to provide a working fluid in a gaseous state at a first temperature range and a first pressure, and a compressor downstream from the evaporator. The compressor is configured to provide the working fluid in the gaseous state at a second temperature range and a second pressure, and the second temperature range is greater than the first temperature range and the second pressure greater than the first pressure. The system includes a first thermoelectric generator arranged between the evaporator and the compressor. A first end of the first thermoelectric generator is configured to receive the working fluid from the evaporator, and a second end is configured to receive the working fluid from the compressor. The first thermoelectric generator is configured to generate electrical energy based on a temperature difference between the first end and the second end.
