Summary:The present invention generally relates to medical imaging. In order to identify a location of a defect in a medical imaging system, a defect localisation system (10) for determining a location of a potential failure event within a medical imaging system. The defect localisation system comprises one or more sensors (12) and at least one processing unit (14). The one or more sensors comprise at least one of an acoustic sensor (12a), a vibration sensor (12b), and a radio-frequency sensor. The at least one processing unit is configured to receive a signal generated by the one or more sensors, and to determine a location of a potential failure event within the medical imaging system based on a) a signature in the signal received from the one or more sensors; and/or b) a difference between signals received from a plurality of the sensors.
