Abstract Provided is a cement admixture containing a dicalcium silicate compound having an average particle diameter of 5 to 100 µm as measured by microscopic observation and also having an average aspect ratio represented by ((major axis diameter)/(minor axis diameter)) of 1.3 or more. It becomes possible to provide a cement admixture having excellent fire resistance and also having an excellent retained ratio of compressive strength, an excellent retained ratio of Young's modulus after the reception of heat and excellent carbonation resistance after the reception of heat.
