A filter module (1) having an inflow side (I) and an outflow side (O) for separating lacquer and/or paint residues, in particular overspray in a paint booth (200), wherein the filter module (1) has an arrangement made up of a plurality of filter plates (2, 7, 8, 21) which are connected irreversibly together within the filter module (1) by a guide structure (3) and are mutually spaced apart, wherein the guide structure (3), in the form of guide slots for spacing the filter plates (2, 7, 8, 21) apart from one another, is arranged in a materially bonded manner on the wall of a housing case (4) which is open at its ends, and wherein two opposite walls of the housing case (4) each have a guide structure (3) in the form of the guide slots, and the use thereof in a paint booth, and a method for the thermal and/or chemical regeneration of the filter module.
