A portable tire changer system (50) for a kart tire (200) mounted on a wheel rim (100) comprises a portable tire changer apparatus (1) that includes a supporting base (2) and supporting means (3) rotatable and comprising a supporting plate (4) for supporting the wheel rim (100) on an inner annular edge (105) thereof and connecting means (5) projecting from said supporting plate (4) and configured to be inserted into an internal cavity of the wheel rim and to engage centring and fixing holes thereof; the portable tire changer system comprises a covering element (10) configured to engage and cover an external annular edge (104) of the wheel rim (100) so as to prevent a working lever (70) used for removing a tire (200) from the wheel rim (100) during a dismounting procedure to contact the external annular edge (104); the portable tire changer apparatus (1) comprises driving means (6) to rotate the supporting means (3) and mounting means (7) comprising an arm (8), movable and having a first end (18) fixed to said supporting base (2) and a second end (19) to which an introducer element (9) is fixed that is made of non-metallic material and configured to abut the external annular edge (104) of the wheel rim (100) in a mounting procedure in order to insert and mount a tire (200) on said wheel rim (100) by rotating said supporting means (3).
