Summary:The present invention relates to a method for the production of a catalyst composition, wherein a support material in the form of carbon particles is impregnated with a platinum compound in an aqueous medium, and the impregnated support material is contected with a reducing agent in the aqueous medium while stirring at a pH in the range of 3.5-6.0 and a Reynolds number of the stirrer of at least 50,000.
