Summary:The present disclosure relates to a monoclonal antibody specifically binding to human Long Interspersed Element-1 ORF2 encoded protein (L1-ORF2p) obtained from hybridoma chA1, and derivatives and uses thereof, including for prediction of response of cancer patients to NNRTI treatments. It also relates to a method for early detection of cell transformation in pre-neoplastic tissues of a human subject, comprising detecting in cells of a pre-neoplastic tissue sample from said subject the expression of L1-ORF2p, wherein the expression of L1-ORF2p indicates the presence of cell transformation in said pre-neoplastic tissues. It also relates to a method for detecting progression of colon adenoma in a human subject suffering from colon adenoma, based on detection of an increase of L1-ORF2p expression.
