Summary:The invention is directed to a method by a base station, comprising: receiving, from a radio network controller, RNC, a multi-media broadcast/multicast service, MBMS, notification update command including notification indicator information; determining whether a modification period is included in the MBMS notification update command; and if the modification period is included in the MBMS notification update command, determining the modification period as a new modification period, wherein the notification indicator information is used to generate a notification indicator, the notification indicator being transmitted on a multi-media broadcast/multicast indication channel, MICH, for the modification period.
