Abstract | A cooling system comprising : - a cooling loop for cooling a combustion engine of a motor vehicle, - a first liquid coolant pump (10) driven by the combustion engine and arranged in a first line (9) of the cooling loop, and - an electrically powered second liquid coolant pump (12) arranged in a second line (13) of the cooling loop. The inlet and outlet of the second line are connected to the first line at a first point (P1) and a second point (P2) of the first line, respectively. A non-return valve (20) is arranged at said second point. Said non-return valve comprises a valve flap (21) that is pivotable between a first end position, in which the valve flap covers the outlet of the second line, and a second end position, in which the valve flap extends across the first line. When the first liquid coolant pump is in operation and the second liquid coolant pump is turned off, the valve flap assumes the first end position t, and when the second liquid coolant pump is in operation and the first liquid coolant pump is turned off, the valve flap assumes the second end position t. |
