Abstract Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) or polyetherketone (PEK) wherein the difference between the nucleation temperature (Tn) and the glass transition temperature (Tg) of said polymeric material is greater than 23°C, the PEEK or PEK having a Melt Viscosity (MV) in the range 0.08 to 1.0 kNsm -2 and wherein for PEEK, log 10 (Melt Flow Index) is greater than (-3.2218x + 2.3327) wherein x represents the MV in kNsm -2 of the PEEK and for PEK log 10 (Melt Flow Index) is greater than (-2.539y + 2.4229) wherein y represents the MV in kNsm -2 of the PEK.
