The invention relates to an oven door (1), in particular having door hinges (11) disposed on the side, comprising at least one vertically disposed door panel (3, 15), in particular a door glass, wherein a first and a second vertically disposed door frame part or door pillar part (7, 9) are disposed on said door panel (3) in the right and left side regions or edges thereof. The door panel (3, 15) is covered at the top edge thereof by a door cover (13). According to the invention, the door cover (13) comprises a pin (23) or a protrusion (25) disposed at a first side area of the door cover (13), wherein said pin (23) or protrusion (25) is designed to be able to engage in a corresponding recess (21) disposed on the first door frame part or door pillar part (7). According to the invention, the door cover (13) further comprises a means (33) for producing a snap connection in the side area of the door cover (13), wherein said means (13) are implemented for engaging in a recess or an undercut (35) on the second door frame part or door pillar part (9) and forming a snap connection. The invention further relates to a method for fastening a door cover (13) to a first and a second vertical door frame part or door pillar part (7, 9) for covering a vertically oriented door panel (3, 15) on the top side thereof.
