Summary: | Production of moldings with structure zones (2, 3) of different ductility comprises: (A) cutting a blank (7) from strip (4) of aluminum/silicon coated high-tensile steel;heating it to 830 - 850[deg] C in the first zone (8) of a multizone furnace (11); moving it after the desired dwell time to a second section of the furnace where one zone (12) of the blank is held at 550 - 650[deg] c in one zone (9), while the other (13) is held at 830 - 950[deg] c in a second zone (10); and heat-forming the blank. Independent claims are included for: (A) a similar process, but in which the strip itself is preheated before the blank is cut and this is then heated to different temperatures in two zones; and a similar process, but in which the blank is cooled after the preheating stage before it is heated in the two zones. |
