Summary: | The present application discloses a method of controlling a cross-web caliper profile of a biaxially oriented polymeric film by stretching the film in a length orienter (100) having an adjustable profile cross-web heat distribution system (150a, 150b, 150c), subsequently deforming the film in a tenter (200) oven having a deformation zone, measuring the cross-web caliper profile of the film at a location downstream from the deformation zone, optionally mapping the measured cross-web caliper profile of the film onto the length orienter, and adjusting the cross-web heat distribution system in response to the measured cross-web caliper profile. |
