Summary:A manager (22, 22a) in an Element Management System (21) builds a model of the state of a supervised Network Element (11) by exploiting traps transmitted by an agent (12, 12a) in the supervised element (11). Upon detecting (101, 111, 113) a lack of alignment between the model and the current state of the element (11), the manager asks (104) the agent to re-delivery the traps necessary to get again the alignment. Traps arriving at the manager while it is processing re-delivered traps are buffered in the manager itself (105, 106) and are processed at the end of the re-alignment (107, 108).
