Summary:The invention relates to a system which detects droplets (12) on a translucent surface (14) having a camera (16) which, upon activation, acquires an image of a portion of the surface (14). A radiation source (22), upon activation, illuminates the portion of the translucent surface (14) while a control circuit selectively activates both the camera (16) and the radiation source(22). A processor receives a captured image from the camera (16) and, through image processing, generates an output signal representative of the number of droplets (12) on the portion of the translucent surface (14).
