Summary:The surgical endoscope (36) has a tubular shaft (26) with its proximal end (32) connected to a bracket adjacent to a small incision in the patient's cheek. It has an inner rod with claws on its distal end and a knob on its proximal end. A flat plate (28) may be introduced through the patient's mouth to bridge a fracture (20) in the patient's lower jaw (12). A bone repair plate (22) is fixed to the jaw by screws (24). The inner rod with claws may project from the distal end (30) of the tubular shaft.
