Abstract | A magnetic tape drive (A) is equipped with a travel device (11a, 11b, and 12) for running a magnetic tape (MT) and a plurality of guides for guiding the magnetic tape, which is running, along a predetermined route. A surface hardening treatment is dispensed to a guide out of the guides where a ratio of a peripheral speed of the guide for a running speed of the magnetic tape is not more than 0.9. |
