Summary:The ball joint has a housing (1) with cavity (2) open on one side. A bearing shell (3) with a ball (4) inserted therein fits with snug radial pretension in the cavity and at least one compensating element (15) is mounted between the bearing shell and inner surface of the cavity. The compensating element can fit in a groove inserted in the outer surface of the bearing shell. The outside dimensions of the compensating element are slightly larger than the inner dimensions of the cavity.
