Summary:The invention relates to metal-free phthalocyanine of the gamma modification, characterised by the X-ray powder diagram (pattern) (CuK alpha ) having the essential glancing angles (Bragg angles) 2 theta [@] 6.8, 7.4, 13.6, 14.9, 15.9, 16.9, 20.5, 22.4, 24.7, 26.2 and 27.8, on its own or as a mixture with other modifications, in the mixtures, the glancing angles may be displaced by +/- 0.2@. The pigments according to the invention are suitable, inter alia, for colouring printing inks, plastics and paints.
