Date Jul. 9, 1981.An information recording apparatus with a disc loaded in an oblong-shaped cassette, in which the flexible information recording disc comprises a solid centering hub. The apparatus comprises a drive with a writing-reading head, a driving motor for rotating the disc and a guiding assembly for moving the head along a path. The cassette has an opening for the introduction of the head arranged in a corner region thereof, and the center point of the path of the head movement falls near to the longer side wall of the cassette that leads to the corner near to the opening. The head guiding is designed in such a way that during the head movement the relative position of the head and the information recording tracks on the disc is constant within a negligable range of tracking error.
