Abstract | Provided is a method of producing Fe(II)/Fe(III) nitrate solution to produce Fischer-Tropsch synthesis iron catalyst comprising ferrous nitrate and ferric nitrate, the method comprising dissolving iron in nitric acid having a concentration in the range of from 5 to 10 wt.% to form a ferrous nitrate solution and maintaining the obtained ferrous nitrate solution at a temperature of from 30 to 35°C for more than 45 min; and combining ferrous nitrate solution and ferric nitrate solution to produce the Fe(II)/Fe(III) nitrate solution. Furthermore, provided are a Fe(II)/Fe(III) nitrate solution to produce Fischer-Tropsch synthesis iron catalyst, a method of preparing Fischer-Tropsch synthesis iron catalyst and Fischer-Tropsch synthesis iron catalyst.
