Summary:Dosage Form Providing Prolonged Release of a Salt of Tapentadol with L-(+)-Tartaric Acid Abstract: The invention relates to a tablet providing prolonged release of Tapentadol, wherein Tapentadol is present in the form of a salt with tartaric acid, in particular in the form of a salt with L-(+)-tartaric acid. The tablet has satisfactory mechanical properties, for example, with regard to breaking strength and friability, and it can be produced under considerably facilitated tableting conditions, in particular at reduced compression force.
